Offroad recoveries are one specialty that is rare amount most mechanics. I personally take passion and joy in every recovery I do. That being said, recoveries come in all shapes and sizes and price will vary wildly from job to job. As a base rate, I charge a minimum of $30 within 10 miles ($2 per mile after 10 miles). This would be a light vehicle with recovery points that just needs a single pull and done. Anything more than that will require a quote with the following information provided:
A picture of the situation
Precise coordinates
Clear recovery points
A make and model of the vehicle being pulled
Current status of the vehicle (does it run and move under its own power?)
Once all of this is provided, I will quickly send you an estimate of how much the job will cost. On the jobs I deem to be very difficult, to the point where it needs 2 winches, the price will be 1.5x what the normal rate is because I will bring a second truck and helper. With 2 winches, all but the craziest of mudbogging trucks can be pulled out with little to no issue.
